Thru the window...again!

On the way up to Quesnel for soccer , I made sure I got at least one shot (ok ..2!) of the old Beehive burner. You don't see many around anymore , they are always a rusty heap , all grown over with tall grass . We have had so much rain that everything is so green in our area. Since we always seem to be in a rush to get somewhere... I'm getting pretty good at shooting throught the window in the Van.... at 120km / hr..... the trick is to use a really high shutter speed.

This is after a huge storm... the light was amazing and the clouds were drifting.... I can't believe how I'm always see how the light lands on things.... a little obsessed!

And the last shot is the sunset in the side mirror on the van! We were almost home and I was still taking pictures. The boys think I'm retarded! But I think these are all really cool! And I'm a big fan of the clouds...they add so much depth to photos. I'm not retarded , just easily amused...haha

Shannon, these photos are STUNNING!! I'm so glad you took the time to capture them. I absolutely LOVE that second one! I am a big fan of playing with light, too. It seems once you start seeing things from that "perspective" you never stop. You are so right about the burner... so many of these "old" things will be gone forever except for the photos.

I also want to say that what you're doing is also opening your sons eyes to viewing things differently. They will remember this and appreciate it more when they are older. I'm glad you are easily amused... so am I! LOL!

Shannon, these are WONDERFUL shots! Love that beehive burner; I've never seen anything like that, and the rusted-ness of it against all that green is wonderful. I hear you on the light; I am the same way, too. Love those clouds, and the way the light is caught in the puddle. And that sunset in the rear view mirror---WOW!! Tell the boys that if you're crazy, you have lots of company!!
