Farwell Canyon

Easter Sunday.... and nothing to do , so we headed out to Farwell Canyon (sorry Laureen). M had a couple of caches to find , and it wasn't snowing! It was really windy but sunny. The boys weren't thrilled but a little give and take doesn't hurt them.

C on the Plateau, wind blowing in his hair. I really like taking pictures when they aren't flashing cheesy smiles

L flying the kite they brought.
Sheep Creek Bridge. I love this bridge, the surroundings and how different it looks in all the seasons. I can't believe how low the Fraser River is!
The sand dune at Farwell Canyon. I wish we could have gone up to the top!

Some of the hoo doos

How beautiful is this place? There is still snow/ice on the banks of the river and nothing is growing , but the colors are amazing anyway.

Signs of Spring???

WELL, yes and no! Our road is down to the gravel, we are waiting for that sweeper to come by....Please!! The second shot shows the Highway...looks like spring except it's Sunny and Snowing at the same time. How is this possible?
We still have about a foot of snow in the back yard, but it is melting..... Hurray!

And then there are Signs of SPRING. My Lilac bush in the backyard has beautiful buds and the warmth of the sun can be felt as you stand there. Almost perfect!

But the BEST of all today......... Was this sweet little lady bug that C found. He was riding his bike and making jumps (of course!) and when he turned over some wood.... this little ladybug was nestled inside. I thought it was dead, but I was going to take pictures of it anyway. I put it in my hand and got my camera ready. In about a minute or so , it started to move! I was thrilled!!
So do the ladybugs hibernate? Might have to look this up! But believe it or not it was the high point of my day! A good sign that spring will soon be here, but mostly because C took the time to bring me this little treasure ...... "I knew you would love this" he said. How cool is that?

HMMMM.... I Told You So!

After dinner last night we went for a quick trip. I told the boys, "throw on some boots and a hoodie and get in the van". I told them we were going to the river valley and it would probably be muddy! HMMMM..... yes muddy!
The boys threw on their hoodies and runners and we left! I said nothing! Grabbed my camera , M grabbed his GPS and the dog followed.
Once there..... we start looking for the cache (geocaching.com) , opps , we are off course by 50 feet. I turn around and walk back to the path, C jumps the fence and runs down the hill , L follows.

M and I come down the path . There's C..... and we turn to see L....stuck in the mud! One shoe is off , his sock is filled with mud and he's standing there , wondering what to do! I wish I had gotten a picture, but I was laughing too hard!! I did snap this one of his shoe though..haha

Hmmmm, I love it when I'm right!!

Here's a couple shots for Grampa.... railway tracks!! And PS. Grama , please send new socks!! And the last picture is the wild sunset on the way back up the connector!

I have to figure out how to size my picture.. but this is a good start! Shan
