Hangin' out with Mr L

L is home this week. Provincial finals at school and Grade 8's don't do provincials. So another week off. WE have been just hanging out. It is so easy with him home, he just does whatever. Must be the age :)
Took this quick shot of him on the couch. I love the light in this spot.
I have a ton of photos I should be going through from our weekend in PG..I will get to them soon..maybe

The McNab crew

Look at this crew! Six!!! They have six Border Collies. Alli , Max , Dakota, Buddy, Maggy, and Sam. I probably spelled the names wrong , but at least I remembered them.
I wish it had been warmer...-25C is not a great time to be outside , but the dogs didn't seem to mind. My fingers were frozen and I think we (uncle glen and I) were only outside for 10 minutes.
Thanks for having us over, feeding us lunch and letting Chloe hang out , while we hit the mall.
I will email you and send you a disc with some photos..but this is the best way to display them
love Shan

A little Flakey!!

YES! I am. I know you were thinking that ! haha.
Took a couple shots of snowflakes today, inspired by Joann (a photo friend). The weather is turning colder again, it will be -25C by Saturday, when we head to PG to meet Grama and Gramps...I know it will be colder there...Yuck!
Hey Uncle Glen McN... if you read this...it's tooooo cold to take dog pictures...but I will have my camera..so we can see what the weather is like...see you Saturday

Some Random Frost

I saw the frost on the school fence yesterday...when I picked the boys up from school. I was hoping that it would still be there today, so I could go back with my camera. We have had warmer temps with fog...I think the fog really helps with the frost...we don't have frost at our house but in town the trees are covered , very pretty. I made sure that I shot these with something in the background that had some color. The green is a dumpster..haha

As Promised the Truck rebuild

So they started in July, and for 2 full months they worked so hard. The boys pulled apart every panel on the old plow truck. We call her BLISTER. They cut out the rust , replaced all the body panels and rebuilt the engine... I think L and C liked that the best. The carport was a make shift garage...it was a HUGE mess. We sanded and sanded all the panels (I will never do that again!) Everything is pretty much new and the rust bucket is no more. The inside still needs some work..the boys bought Mike new inside door panels for Christmas..but he'll have to wait till spring to put them in.
At the end of September She went in for Paint..and look at her now....too pretty to plow snow with, but I'm not shovelling our driveway..hah
A big Thank you to John the Painter...what an amazing job he did.
Hope you like the storyboard Mike :)

My Top Picks from 2008

Well , It's time to clean up and move on...on my computor anyway. I have seriously taken tooooo many pictures for any one person...my family will agree to that! I never thought I would love photography as much as my pottery..but that seems to be the case. So I thought I would do up a couple storyboards with my favorite shots from 2008. I ended up with 3 and I'm sure I could do another 3...Now I need to finish backing up and then removing 28000 photos..yes i said 28000!!! I'm scared to take them off my computor but I need the space...go figure.
so here they are ....nature and landscape stuff and then one of each of the boys...I still have to do one for the rebuild of the chevy pickup...I promise that I will get to it soon Mike..promise!!

A little behind

I took this shot a couple days after Christmas ....I should have posted it before, but i just haven't had time.
We all went for a walk...ok a trudge through the snow on Fox mountain...the trees were still covered in ice from the freezing rain and then there was snow on top of that. It was Beautiful, and we needed to wear off some off the 4 tonnes of food we'd been eating.
I love this shot of L with Uncle Gord, it really says something about the bond that they share...Uncle Gord and Auntie Jay are as close to really family as it gets ..with out the blood relation of course...they have watched the boys grow since they day they were born and then some. They are "our in town family" , does that make sense? haha ...I don't know what we would do without them...good friends , great memories!
I have more shots from our walk ...but this is my favorite...will try to post more

And 2009 ...rushes in!

Happy New Year to Everyone! Where does the time go?
Yesterday we all went for a walk...of course we were looking for something..aren't we always hunting in the bush. it was cool, not cold! and the fresh air was nice.
Look! a shot of all the boys together...and they are all looking .....AMAZING!!
And Mike took one of Me and L...And his focus was great...another Amazing thing.... and Mike ...hunting in the trees...it must suck to be 6'3"...lol
And L and C decided to do this...C brought the ski off a gt racer..so this is snow surfing? I wish I had time to take a picture of L..flying through the air like superman...Hilarious! Filled his shoes ,shirt and coat full of snow when he crashed...bet he wishes he wore his winter gear...told you so...yes , your mother is always right!!
And C swooshing down the hill...nice outfit eh? Skate shoes and a hoodie...do these kids not realize that it is winter? And then they wonder why they are cold!!
Wishing you all a year full of Amazing , fun events...that memories are made of...
My new years resolution...hmmm...don't sweat the small stuff...pick your battles wisely....because some stuff just isn't worth gripping about
