A Sad Day

This morning when the phone rang early, even though I wasn't really awake, I knew exactly what the person on the other end would be saying. I knew it was my mom, I knew that she had bad new ,I knew that Grama Grace was gone. What a sad day.
I'm glad that she wasn't in pain, I'm glad that my Dad and Aunt and Uncle were all there. I'm glad that she was surrounded by love.
I don't think it really hit me until I tried to find a picture of my brothers with Grama Grace, from last summer. I have search my external hard drive, I have search for a back up disc, I have searched on Mike's computer, I CAN"T FIND IT!! So I sit here in tears trying to think where the original could be... I know I didn't delete it, I know that it wasn't in focus, but it was Perfect! I do know that if i change my blog settings I can copy it from last Augusts post, but it's only a small web size.

I did find a few pictures of Grama that I will share. This was in Uncle Jim's yard last summer. I remember how thrilled she was that we were all there. That was a great day.

and my Dad and Gram in uncle Jim's yard. Dad, I wish I was there to give you a hug. I love you, and I am so sorry.

Funy, but today ....these are THE BEST pictures I have ever taken...

Rest in Peace Gram. You will be missed

Love Shannon

Spring Break and soccer

Well we made it back from our trip to Vancouver. We were gone for nine days. Just the boys and Myself. Mike stayed home to work. We sure missed him.
So we stayed at Jason's for over a week, poor guy, poor cats. BUT......we did a bunch of stuff to fix up his house and it looks great! And I know how much he loved having the company...hahahah
On our last day we rode the sea bus over to downtown and went and did a couple touristy things in the pouring rain, boy did it rain.
Here is the Olympic torch, through the glass in the pouring rain. It's kinda ugly.

And C on the phone at the soccer field. Talking to his Dad. It wasn't raining but it was sure cold during the week

and L on the field. Turf fields , made of rubber...weird. They had one game and 5 practices while we were there
On the Tuesday, we arrived at the soccer field way to early. (I wasn't sure where we were going) So we headed up to Lynn Valley Canyon and walked around. The suspension bridge was cool (C didn't think so) And it was so green, such a change from the grey and brown at home.
So we managed with the traffic, found a few things to do and it was fun, but I'm sure glad to be home.
We had luch with Dorothy and Glenn during the week and I just wanted to thank them for meeting us on my side of the bridge, so much easier :) It was great to see them!
More soon!

Oh Boy..where have I been?

I have looked at my blog, thinking that I should update it. Well that hasn't happened. I have thought about it, but what can i tell you without boring everyone to death. I haven't returned my emails , I have things that need to be done, but none of it is happening. I think the ugliness outside has something to do with it, it is gray, dirty and icy. Not much motivation in that. I haven't picked up my camera for a couple weeks, there is nothing to take pictures of!

So I will show you some stuff from 2 weeks ago in Vancouver. We took the boys back down, again!! Logan had camp and Corb..well we found some stuff for him to do.
It was beautiful down there, the sun was shining , it was wWARM!! Like T-shirt weather ..warm.
This was on the way down, just before Chilliwack. Through the window
We didn't know that they had a skate park at Ambleside, but Corb was pretty happy, what a great place to hang out!
Logan scrimmaging with his new team mates.
The Lionsgate bridge, taken from ambleside park. I love that bridge , you can see the silhouette of Vancouver in the background and the big ship loading cranes.
Mike and Chloe on the waterfront, love the snowcapped mountains in the background .
and some of the tunnels in the fraser canyon , on the way home. 7 tunnels in all . 4 on the Boston Bar side and 3 on the Yale side. And the sad thing is I can name them all, tell you which is the longest, which ones don't have lights ..you know a bunch of trivial stuff that isn't important..hahah
So , the boys and I are heading back down on Saturday, Mike is staying home to work (poor guy). We will spend saturday until the following tuesday, most of spring break. L will have practice 5 of those days , C and I will have to find something fun for him to do. Maybe more skateboarding. we'll figure it out :)
