Finally Some Color!

We had flurries today, Yes it April 30th and still holding on to winter. It's much too cold to plant anything but the garden shops are open and I wanted some COLOR!! Sheryl (the owner of Faval Nursery) was kind enough to let me walk around and take some photos! It smelled like spring in their greenhouse. I could have stayed there all day. Just a few random shots of everything!
I like these little yellow pansies, they look like they have been painted, with a fine tipped brush. And the orange one was begging me to take it home, but it's too early and too cold. A great way to blow 1/2 an hour.....and it made me feel good! Thanks for looking

How to make a 12 (almost 13) year old boy SMILE!

Do something that he really wants to try..... like....look down

Go to the Rod and Gun Club and shoot a couple boxes of shells at little metal targets from a 100 yards. Smiling a whole bunch, like a perma grin! L was thrilled and a pretty good shot.

This is his target, not bad for his first try!

THANK YOU SO MUCH DEVIN!!! You made L's day...... and M and C's too! Just so you all know , "YES" I did shoot the rifle and I was the first to hit a target..." OH YEAH!! WHO'S your mama now?" I also shot 4 of the 6 targets (at 100 yards) I was aiming at !!

Redneck Sunday!!

We all worked in the yard yesterday. It was freezing, but we managed to pull down the broken fence and re-stack the firewood. Nothing like good hard work and smelling like a campfire!
C started the fire and had a blaze big enough to melt your eyebrows off from 10 feet away!

At the tender age of 9, it's all about the cool factor. I'm sure that this will be on the inside of the CD jacket when C releases his first album. "that's right , I was cool then too..". Took these on the weekend , it was a balmy 18 degrees, sure beats the snow! Don't you love the bare feet, I do!

Ok, not really a field of dreams... more like a field of TICKS! I like the way it looks like L & C are all alone ...just them! And my new favorite pics of the boys... look!! No stupid faces!! I'm pretty thrilled with these.
And the last shot is Chloe.... exhausted!! I think our geo walk was a bit much for her. M had to carry her back to the van. Too Funny, she just lied in his arms until we walked back up the hill

Gotta love Geocaching! These 3 shots are all while we were caching. I wouldn't say that M is obsessed, but if there was a 12 step program... he would be on it! Ha Ha. M is even more excited when he can get some one else involved.... Yes that is Uncle J holding the GPS... "ohhhh this is cool" ...run away J... he'll suck you in!
