Gavin Lake with the class

So I was asked to go to Gavin Lake Forestry camp with C's class. I know that C didn't want me to go , but if they didn't have another parent chaparone, No one would go. I packed my bag and headed out Wednesday. It was snowing on the way out...Yikes! Mike put the winter tires on the van, so I knew it would be fine. C's class spent 2 nights and came back into town Friday afternoon. The kids were kept busy...I mean really busy, they were in class, they had chores and also free time. When it was free time...I usually snuck away with my camera down to the lake.
The first two shots are at sunrise, about 7:30am...while the kids were eating breakfast.
Looking down the lake away from the sun.
Here is C at his archery course, I think this course and the orienteering were the coolest.
And a few of the boys at free time, they were all well behaved, boys and girls. And they came home dirty and tired.
So Friday morning, the kids and Mr. Grace load up my van with sleeping bags and gear...and I booked it to town. I had just enough time to come home and shower.... I really needed that. And then I went to school and dropped all the stuff off.....and headed over to watch L play soccer, I made it just as the game started ...I was happy about that.
That is L with the ball
I was sitting on the ground....a totally different prespective. And this shot...no ball, but I really like the light. It was cold and windy and dark and the sun came out for a minute. L is playing senior soccer and junior right now...but he really enjoys the senior soccer more, He told me it's way more challenging playing with grade 11 and 12's..he's only in grade 9, but he seems to hold his own. Their team won gold on the weekend.

I love it that you are so actively involved with your boys...down the road, years from now, they will remember that and love it. That camp looks like it is really fun; love those cloud reflection shots!! Very cool!
