Field Trip

On Friday morning, we were up early and off to the hill for a ski day field trip with C's class. L was lucky enough to be on exam week and he came too! Must be nice to never have to go to school. We left the house at 7am and made it home by 4:30pm. The kids all had a great time and Becky (another mom) snapped a shot of me. I didn't ski this time, I just walked around and took pictures.
Laureen had lent me her 5D and her fisheye for the day. What a great place to play with that lens. Here's L in the morning just before lunch.

And this is C's first trip up the chair, with his brother of course. After a couple trips up with L...then he went with his friends
And I just thought that this looked cool. C was just lying there and he wasn't gonna look at me so I took the shot anyway.
And this one with the attitude, and chapped lips. Yep ...still winter in the cariboo!

So a little update , we went to Vancouver last weekend , and L goes to Prince Rupert for the northern winter games next weekend and then we will head back to Vancouver the following weekend. So I'm trying to update my blog , but we are busy! I will catch up soon , I hope

First Post of 2010

We have been out and about. The weather has been pretty cool, -15C last weekend. Mike and I shovelled the roof on New Years Day. We do that every year because the garage is almost flat. This year the snow hasn't had a chance to pack down an harden, lucky for us, it only took about 25 minutes. Otherwise it takes forever and it is such hard work. We lucked out! Hurray!

So my first pictures of the boys this year.We went skating on the pond just down the road, Jan 2nd was a dull and grey day, but we had fun anyway. Mr L has been letting me take his photo lately, that is nice change! So here he is at the pond.
And Mr C, all of a sudden, doesn't want his picture taken, but I made him anyway!

And a couple shots from around the yard
on New Years day. I have no idea why they think this is so much fun. All bundled up, freezing temps, snow blowing in your face . And the boys are always telling Mike to go faster! And it seems like wiping out is the best, as long as no one gets hurt. I think this is the only time they don't fight.
Notice C's boots....they are pink, they're mine. And L's legs barely fit inside the saucer now, wish they made bigger saucers
Happy New Years to ya all!

a little bit of Redneck

Last Sunday afternoon, just before all the company arrived.....The boys..Mike included. Yelled " We'll be right back, we have to go to the dump!". Ok , That is weird, Mike and Corb went to the dump while I took Logan to soccer?, Oh well...whatever. 15 minutes later...they come back up the driveway, what the hell are they doing?!
smiling from ear to ear and giggling, they drive to the back yard and place their "FINDS" (from the share shed.) YES!! They went to the Shareshed and load the back of the truck with discarded furniture, and they were so proud to place it around the firepit. They need therapy!

ya gotta love that Corbin is in his pj bottoms and Logan still has his soccer pants on with a quilted trucker jacket. My redneck boys..hahah

Well it worked out well. You know that snomobiling around the yard is hard work, and who wouldn't want to relax in a plaid recliner from the dump around the Firepit. Even the dogs!
Seriously, they are taking it all back this weekend....or else..lol

A Houseful of giggles

We have had a week full of giggles, laughter and all around ridiculous behavior. Mostly by Jason and Troy. I have to leave these small , I resized them wrong..ugh!
These are my two younger brothers, idiots of the whoopie cushions. I have never seen them laugh so hard, I think it was good for both of them.
Our new Christmas eve tradition involved $10 and a trip to the dollar store with a list of 9 people. We could only spend $10...no more, I think it was the funniest part of our time together. Look at these 2.....this went on for an hour, and into the next day . The house was full...very full with 10 of us. But everything worked out well, and we had a TRUE REDNECK CHRISTMAS at the Heryet house. Trust me I will post the redneck photos soon.
here is Logan and Ryan sharing snuggle time with Grama. and this shot of my Dad on Christmas Eve is probably one of my most favorite ever shots. The fur hat, I gave to him early. He loved the ones the boys had, and I went down town to find him one. He wore it the whole time, I love his smile and I know that he was having such a great time with all four of his Grandkids. Love you Dad!

Mike's birthday tradition

I'm a little late! Mike's birthday was Monday! And the boys made their traditional Happy Birthday Gingerbread house on Saturday night. They have done this since L was 3. And I'm sure that they have more fun now then they did when they were little.
The Photos are terrible, but it's more about capturing the memory than the quality.
How many 14 and 11 years olds sit with their dad and make a gingerbread house ? Not too many but they sure have fun. Lots of laughter and with all the extra sugar..Mr C had a nice sugar high.
Happy Belated Birthday Mike. 45 isn't old,,,,no really ..hahah
I love You

I am here!!

I haven't forgot about you! I have been just a little busy. Christmas is coming...ya know? but....
that has nothing to do with it! I went back to school, on the weekends. Some courses put on by UNBC (university of northern British Columbia). So amongst all the normal stuff, on the weekend I go to school for 8 hours a day. What was I thinking. I'm too old for homework. haha
Everything is good here. And I will do some catch up soon. i haven't been taking many photos...except a few like this. The snow is beautiful , I hope we get more , lots more soon!
not the cold though, not looking forward to -20C this weekend.
